INSTRUCTIONS

Instructions Video ONE

Just an introduction!!!

Instructions Video TWO

Keeping in mind we want to plan a VFR flight, I will briefly demonstrate how to do it with our partnership flight planning free software. This example is an different area from the previous video, but the overhall concept for planning keeps the same. For more information checkout the PARTNERSHIP section.

Flight Test One

After extensive groud testing it was about time to get VFR Cleared for takeoff airborned! In the first part of the video you can see settings menu... and each orange pop-up is an sucessufull detection. After each detection you will get new instructions on the pop section of the screen. Last pop-up (grey) was the information that the final point was reached, it must be acknoledged and by that time you should already have your destination airport in-sight!

Hope you enjoy!

Instructions Video THREE

In this video I will try to explain how to enable VFR Cleared for takeoff to read and load the previously created file with all points of your planned route!

In this example the file is sent to an email account and then downloaded to your Android device. This is usefull if you need/want to leave your computer home, or keep backup of your route in your email account.

This is also usefull if you want to share your planning with other VFR Cleared for takeoff users, they will have to download the file to their devices.

The simplest way is to connect your android device to your computer/laptop with an USB cable, and simply browse your Android device and copy the file with YYYYMMDDvfr.txt name format to the root of the SDCARD of your Android device.

REMEMBER: File name with planned route must have YYYYMMDDvfr.txt format. This is the format aplication will search on the root of the SDCARD.

Instructions Video FOUR

Last but not least, this is the video where I will give you an overall overview of the VFR Cleared for takeoff application.

PLEASE notice that these are not magnetic headings... These are GPS informations so they are TRACK and GROUND SPEEDS.

This video was done during development so some small changes are possible, but overall flow and features are the same.

Being GPS based the application performace  is higly related to the precision of your device built-in GPS receiver. You will need to evaluate your device error in a place with knowned altitude and then set application tolerance accordingly

Flight Test Two

VFR Cleared for takeoff was once again airborned for more real flight testing on 17th and 18th June 2016 this time to specificly analyse and test the 500 ft / 150 m tolerance setting and the overhall aplication beahvior.

In this flight video you can see v1.0, which is the free version but with very helpfull features. You can see the sucessfull detections and the last planned point was considered with airfield in sight as you can see in the video. After each detection new indications are provided and in the free version, at each point you can manually start a timer to count each leg time.  Results were once more satisfactory!

Hope you enjoy!
